Drop Off and Transportation

We’ll be staying in the Lodge at Doddridge County Park (1252 Snowbird Rd, West Union, WV 26456, doddridgecountypark.com/facilities). Drop off will be Sunday evening at 5:00pm. Camp will begin with dinner for just the campers and leaders at 6 PM.
On Wednesday, there will be a Talent Show (small groups will come up with their “talent” throughout the week) beginning at 5 PM. Parents are welcome to attend. Then there will be a Family Hot Dog Dinner starting at 6:00pm. After a jammed-packed three days, we will conclude camp on Wednesday at 7 PM.
We can have vehicles ready to leave from our Fairmont SRC location at 4:00pm on Sunday and drop the students off back at the Fairmont SRC location on Wednesday between 8:00-9:30pm, for those that require transportation. Please email us at [email protected] or call or text Josh at 304-376-2680, if your student needs transportation. If we do not have anyone contact us, we will assume all students will have transportation to and from camp.

Things to Remember

Wash all new clothing before packing, and remember to mark everything your child will be taking — from socks to soap cases — with their name or initials. Try to calculate how much clothing your child will need. We recommend you pack your student enough clothes to last one-and-a-half times the number of days they'll be at camp.

The most important thing to remember about packing for camp is simple and surprising: Give yourself plenty of time. This will ensure you're not rushing and forgetting things last-minute and can even help ease nerves about heading off away from home.
Also, remember to make it a team effort. When you pack together and take your time, your excitement about summer camp can rub off on your child while also ensuring that nothing is forgotten when it comes to checking off your summer camp packing list. With these tips (and this list), you can relax knowing your student has everything they'll need — so they can go off to camp worry-free and ready to focus on Christ.

Guidelines

  • All attendees are expected to conduct themselves as a son or daughter of God
  • All attendees are required to attend the various camp activities
  • Offensive or abusive language should never be used
  • A night curfew “lights out” will be enforced
  • The girls dorms and rooms are off-limits to the boys at all times and vice-versa
  • Every person is required to conform to the camp schedule, and will not be permitted to leave camp without permission
  • Automobiles are unnecessary during the camp period. They will be considered "parked" for the duration
  • Boys and girls may not hug, hold hands, or any other public display of affection
(Remember you are an example to others)
  • No cell phones or any other device that can access the Internet

Clothing

All attendees will be required to wear clothing that becomes a Christian. If you have doubts about the suitability of an item of clothing, please don’t bring it.

Specifically the following are prohibited:
  • Clothing that is too tight, or suggestive
  • Skirts that have slits above the knee
  • Short Shorts
  • Sheer tops
  • Tank tops or sleeveless undershirts worn as shirts
  • Clothing with offensive or abusive images or language depicted on them

Obvious Rules that shouldn't need mentioned

  • The use of tobacco, alcoholic beverages, or drugs of any kind is strictly prohibited
  • Damages to property and the property of others is the responsibility of the youth doing the damage
  • Dormitory and cabins are under the supervision of the chaperones. Sleep and rest are necessary for sound, healthy bodies. We cannot permit a noisy few to keep others awake
  • SRC reserves the right to dismiss from camp anyone who does not obey these regulations, or direct instructions from chaperones
(If a camper is dismissed from camp, there will be no refund)
